The Braastad discovery & its journey to Hong Kong
On a -20°C cold winter night in Norway 1999, the founder of Chill Wine experienced a defining moment. A customer introduced him not just to Norway’s icy charm, but to Braastad XO—a Cognac with deep Norwegian heritage. Instantly captivated by its rich character, he made it a ritual to bring back bottles whenever he visited or hosted Norwegian clients. This encounter marked the beginning of a lifelong passion for Braastad Cognac.
After opening Chill Café Bar & Grill in 2016, and a year after launching Chill Wine & Cigar – we were determined to bring Braastad Cognac directly to Hong Kong. Despite relentless efforts, securing official imports proved challenging, forcing us to rely on third-party parallel imports from France.
In 2024, fate intervened: at a trade exhibition, we met the fifth-generation heir of the Braastad family. The connection was instant, and within months, we solidified an exclusive partnership. Today, Chill Wine proudly serves as the official master distributor of Braastad Cognac in Hong Kong - fulfilling a decade-long dream to share this exceptional spirit with our patrons.
